The anti-theft gates themselves will not react to your magnetic detachers or any magnets, as AM and RF technology gates are waiting for a response from the tag in the form of electromagnetic oscillations, and the tag is made of un-magnetized ferrite and wires wound on it or in the form of coil without ferrite in the center.

Embedding a magnet detection system directly into the frame is very difficult and would require separate electronic computing boards for field analysis.
But there are additional frames designed for this, they use different methods to calculate your detachers, I observe 2 technologies:
1. The simplest method is sensitive electronic REED SWITCHES, inside which a nanodrop of magnetic material reacts with movement to the presence of a powerful magnet nearby, the sensor reads this movement and depending on its activity sends a signal to react with an alarm. I’ve seen only a few implementations of this technology and they ultimately weren’t successful and didn’t become widespread, as it has blind spots and low effectiveness as a result.
2. The method of analyzing changes in a very low frequency signal and wave shift, appears more often, as it has greater accuracy.
How does this manifest in practice for you?
They are only built into narrow additional frames, which do not have LEDs or speakers and usually react with external strobes or additional speakers placed separately, and if the magnet detector really works, you will notice something most of the time when you enter. Our research on this topic ended after buying a MetalMagnetDetector from AMRESEC in which this option was disabled before us (we bought these frames after the closure of one of the stores). We found a way to reactivate it through special software, but… it works unstably and if you don’t hold the magnet closer than 10cm, it won’t work.
In Russia, we encountered a single working development from MagnetDetection by the DetexLine company with any stability. This is an additional antenna in the form of a plastic 3\*2cm cable duct vertical sticker on the end of the AM gate, easy to spot, and immediately clear that this is something extra.
They also figured out in some cases to install them in the fitting room at the corners, sensitivity is effective if you bring the magnet closer. If you see this in the fitting room, just tear off the cable that goes to this stick usually from the bottom or behind it.
What to do with this?
– look for super fantastic materials to hide your detachers from magnet detectors? No… it doesn’t work like that, humanity still can’t shield a magnetic field, otherwise we’d be flying on gravitaps and carpet-planes. The only thing you can check is the dispersion of the power of your detacher’s magnetic field to low levels, a metal can with thick walls will help you do this, so they take on and distribute magnetization along the contour, but it’s so-so to carry an extra kilogram of iron with you) But try if you are desperate or simply go to the next store, as in reality MMDs are encountered in units per thousands of stores.
